It was the first time I went there, and ofcourse I enjoyed the music, but I also liked the activities that were organised by brands. Festivals such as Lowlands are ideal to show your brand identity to a of lot people. I&#8217;ll give you three examples:<\/p>\n<p>1. The Converse Compound is at Lowlands for the fifth year, because Allstars are the ultimate festivalshoes. It is a beautiful construction made out of pallets and containers. Bring your Chuck Taylors or other Converse models to one of the containers and they will be customizes by the artists of LEYP, for free. If you&#8217;d rather upgrade your whole look you can get bombarded with paint and glitters by Saskia Rocks, awesome! You can also pimp t-shirts and bags yourself, take a picture with your festivalbuds in the photobooth or leave a mesasge at the converse wall. Everything is sharable with the hashtag #showmeyours. These photo&#8217;s are printed and sticked to the compound. Converse also developed the Lowlands App in which you can make your personal blockschedule. Too bad they didn&#8217;t implement their own silent disco.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 645px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Converse Compound\" src=\"http:\/\/www.didikoller.nl\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/converse.jpg\" alt=\"Converse Compound\" width=\"635\" height=\"680\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Show me yours @ Lowlands (foto&#39;s: Daily Paradise)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0<strong>Grolsh<\/strong>, the sponsor with it&#8217;s own tent, also came up with something cool. For a little refreshment with these tropical temperatures the Grolsch bar was replaced by the Grolsch pool. The pool is no more than an overgrown footbath, but it&#8217;s complete with lifeguards, aquarobics and diving prohibited-signs. Grolsch also made a game with QR-codes, but I&#8217;m afraid that&#8217;s not going to work as long as we haven&#8217;t solved the phone-charging-problem. Much simpler was the free Grolsch cooling service, where you could trade your tepid beer for a cold one. Tastes better and no apps needed.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 449px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Beugelbad\" src=\"http:\/\/www.didikoller.nl\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/grolschbeugelbad.jpg\" alt=\"Beugelbad\" width=\"439\" height=\"535\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Aquarobics in het Grolsch pierenbad (foto: Daily Paradise)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>3. <strong>Oxfam Novib<\/strong> made sure thet 55.000 people now know what it feels like to wait for drinkable water in the burning sun for half an hour. O no, that was mother nature.<br \/>\nOxfam Novib showed people their own flaws with their All You Can Eat foodcorner. Because while 1 in 7 people goes to bed hungry every single night, the All You Can Eat restaurants pop up all around the world.<br \/>\nThe signs in the foodcourt are saying things as: <span style=\"line-height: 24px;\"><em>There&#8217;s no more where that came from<\/em> and <em>Eat now, pay later<\/em>. B<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\"> Visitors can try to bring down the system by hitting a bunch of cans. Afterwards they can enjoy the fair and sustainable snacks. <\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 522px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"All You Can Eat\" src=\"http:\/\/www.didikoller.nl\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/oxfam.jpg\" alt=\"All You Can Eat\" width=\"512\" height=\"351\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Oxfam Novib&#39;s All You Can Eat <\/p><\/div>\n<p>As you can a see a nice idea and a bit of attention can provide a huge brand awareness. Before Lowlands I had no clue what Oxfam Novib was fighting for. Other brands that are visibly active and add value at Lowlands are Hi, Douwe Egberts and Shoestring. I can&#8217;t wait to see what they all come up with next year.<!--:--><!--:nl-->Het afgelopen weekend reisden tienduizenden mensen naar Biddinghuizen voor het hoogtepunt van het festivalseizoen: Lowlands. Ik was er dit jaar voor het eerst en ik heb natuurlijk genoten van de muziek, maar ook van de leuke dingen die merken\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">hebben <\/span>georganiseerd. Festivals als Lowlands zijn ideaal om je brand identity te laten zien. Hieronder drie voorbeelden:<\/p>\n<p>1. Dit jaar was de <strong>Converse <\/strong>Compound voor de vijfde keer op Lowlands, want Allstars zijn festivalschoeisel bij uitstek. De uit containers en pallets opgebouwde constructie is al direct een lust voor het oog. Breng je Chuck Taylors of andere Converse modellen langs bij \u00e9\u00e9n van de containers en deze zullen gratis worden bewerkt door kunstenaars van LEYP. Als je liever je h\u00e9le look wilt upgraden kun je je laten bekogelen met speciale verf en glitters door Saskia Rocks, heel tof! Zelf kun je ook t-shirts en tassen pimpen, met je festivalvriendjes in de photobooth of een berichtje achterlaten op de allstars wall. Alles is te delen met de hashtag\u00a0#showmeyours. Deze foto&#8217;s worden ook meteen in de compound opgehangen. Ook handig: Converse heeft de Lowlands app ontwikkeld waarmee je je persoonlijke blokkenschema kunt maken. Voor wat verkoeling bij de tropische temperaturen werd de beugelbar vervangen door het beugelbad. Het &#8216;zwembad&#8217; is niet meer dan een uit de kluiten gewassen voetenbadje, maar wel \u00a0compleet met badmeesters, aquarobics en verboden te duiken-bordjes. Er werd ook iets gedaan met QR-codes, maar zolang we nog kampen met het telefoon-oplaad-probleem op festivals zal dat niet gaan werken. Veel simpeler was de Grolsch koelservice, waar je helemaal gratis je lauwe biertje kon inruilen voor een gekoelde variant. O nee, dat was moeder natuur. Oxfam Novib hield mensen een spiegel voor met hun All You Can Eat \u00a0toko. Want terwijl 1 op de 7 mensen honger lijdt, schieten wereldwijd de All You Can Eat restaurants als paddenstoelen uit de grond.\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">In de foodcourt hangen lichtgevende reclameborden met leuzen als: <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\"><em>There&#8217;s no more where that came from<\/em> en <em>Eat now, pay later<\/em>. B<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">ezoekers kunnen proberen <\/span>het systeem omver te werpen met een potje ouderwets blikgooien en daarna genieten van allerlei eerlijke en duurzame heerlijkheden.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 522px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"All You Can Eat\" src=\"http:\/\/www.didikoller.nl\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/oxfam.jpg\" alt=\"All You Can Eat\" width=\"512\" height=\"351\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Oxfam Novib&#39;s All You Can Eat <\/p><\/div>\n<p>Een leuk idee en een beetje aandacht op festivals kan zorgen dus voor een enorme brand awareness. Ik had v\u00f3\u00f3r Lowlands bijvoorbeeld geen idee waar Oxfam Novib voor strijdt. Ook merken als Hi, Douwe Egberts en Shoestring waren zichtbaar aanwezig en vormden een toegevoegde waarde voor de festivalgangers.
